Blue Ticket Companions

ABOUT US

Our mission statement

Enable clients the opportunity to reunite with friends and loved ones, have fun, forge new experiences, learn, generate lasting memories, be independent, interesting, feel valued, confident and safe.

BTC (Blue Ticket Companions) was conceived as an “original” idea for SA some time ago by Jude Robert.  She researched what was available in SA but discovered no service, so this is a first.  She has worked in various fields of nursing, Hospital (General (Medical/Surgical), Obstetric & Gynae, Psychiatric,  Paediatrics, Seniors and ICU), worked for GP’s (NZ), Companion & Home Care (UK), Occupational Health, Medical Sales and Education, and lastly almost 10 years in the field of Kidney Failure, Anaemia, Chronic Disease and Organ Transplant (SA).  She is well travelled, except South America) on planes, ships, trains and buses, so well versed on the rigours of travel.

Companies operating elsewhere in the world have their own internal dynamics most notably, a vast landmass with close border proximity to other states or countries.  That makes SA unique, but potentially isolated. In SA we’re very aware of safety when travelling so the idea of having someone beside you was a very comforting thought.  We all know someone in need of this service.

Who are we?

Our Companions are all Registered Nurses.  We’ve chosen to only employ RN’s as Companions due to their medical knowledge and experience of travel thereby ensuring their appreciation of the rigours of travel and able to anticipate what difficulties may arise.  They are all Private Nurse Practitioners, registered with the SA Nursing Council and Board of Healthcare Funders.  Each of our Companions are carefully selected to suit the position.  They are to be medically fit to travel (like you!) and hold a current police clearance certificate.  Each Nurse is certified with Basic Life Support so can assist in the event of an emergency.
